Coastal Basics is a fashion retailer offering modest fashion, kaftans, deras, accessories, jewellery, and related products.

Our website and services are intended for customers in Kenya and customers purchasing from other countries where we are able to offer delivery.

8. Delivery

We offer delivery within Kenya and to selected international destinations.

Delivery times displayed on our website are estimates and may vary depending on the destination, courier, customs procedures, weather, public holidays, and other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

For international orders, customs clearance and import procedures may affect delivery times.

Where applicable, the customer is responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, clearance fees, or other charges imposed by the destination country unless we expressly state otherwise.

Once an order has been handed over to a third-party courier, delivery is also subject to that courier's terms and operating procedures.

We will make reasonable efforts to assist customers with delivery issues and courier-related concerns.

9. International Orders

Customers placing international orders are responsible for ensuring that the products they purchase may legally be imported into their destination country.

Different countries may have different rules regarding clothing, textiles, accessories, jewellery, and other goods.

Coastal Basics cannot guarantee that every product is permitted for import into every jurisdiction.

International customers should also be aware that customs authorities may inspect shipments and that additional charges may be imposed by the destination country.

10. Exchanges, Returns and Refunds

Our exchange and refund practices are set out in our Exchange & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

For orders fulfilled within Kenya, eligible exchange requests are generally subject to the applicable exchange period and product-condition requirements stated in our Exchange & Refund Policy.

Certain delivery methods and destinations may not qualify for exchanges, including international orders and orders couriered outside Nairobi County, subject always to any mandatory rights provided by applicable law.

Where a customer selects the wrong product, size, colour, or other option, the customer may be responsible for applicable additional delivery or courier costs where an exchange is legally and commercially available.

Where Coastal Basics sends an incorrect item due to an error on our part, we will work with the customer to provide an appropriate resolution without charging the customer for the corrective delivery, subject to applicable law.

Nothing in our Exchange & Refund Policy or these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right, guarantee, warranty, refund, cancellation, replacement, repair, or other remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the laws applicable to your purchase.

For example, where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country provide a right that is inconsistent with our standard exchange policy, those mandatory rights will apply.

11. Faulty, Damaged or Incorrect Products

If you receive a product that is defective, materially damaged before delivery, or materially different from the product you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

We may ask you to provide photographs, videos, order information, or other reasonable evidence so that we can assess the issue.

Where the issue is attributable to Coastal Basics, we will seek to provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law.

This may include a replacement, repair, exchange, refund, store credit, price adjustment, or another appropriate remedy depending on the circumstances and the law applicable to the transaction.

12. Store Credit

Where store credit is offered, the amount and applicable conditions will be communicated to the customer.

Store credit may only be used toward eligible future purchases and cannot be exchanged for cash unless required by applicable law.

Store credit may be subject to an expiry period where permitted by applicable law and where that period has been communicated to the customer.

13. Payment

We accept the payment methods made available through our website at checkout.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.

We do not store complete payment card details on our own systems where payment processing is handled by a third-party payment provider.

Payment providers may have their own terms and privacy policies, which apply to the processing of payments.
